Grosdar’s canyon

A fun and very accessible day out

At the gateway to the Jura town of Saint Claude, this crystal-clear river has plenty of character. Depending on its flow, it offers a more or less aquatic descent.

Right from the start, you’ll discover a succession of waterfalls and magnificent potholes, giving you the opportunity to make jumps and slides.

This canyon is completely immersed in the vegetation typical of the Jura undergrowth, which provides a welcome coolness during the summer heat. The canyon continues through the forest, alternating between short steps and slides, culminating in an impressive final jump.

Although this canyon is very aquatic, you can also avoid a number of difficulties by skirting the water. What’s more, the absence of rope abseiling makes this one of the most accessible canyons in the region.
